A broadband light source illuminates the sample loaded onto the SmartPath™ measurement pedestal. An internal algorithm continuously evaluates signal strength and adjusts the active path length between 0.5 mm and 0.04 mm to keep absorbance readings within an optimal detection window, eliminating the need for pre-measurement dilution. The full 190–840 nm spectrum is acquired in one 8-second read, and purity ratios are calculated automatically to flag potential sample contamination. Results are available for immediate export through USB or a connected label printer.
Designed for everyday laboratory demands, the DS-7 produces repeatable absorbance data with 1 nm wavelength precision and a measurement accuracy of 2% at 0.75 AU at 260 nm. With no routine maintenance procedures or periodic recalibration needed, the instrument stays operational and ready, reducing both running costs and technician intervention.
